A comission for a friend (in Japan) who will be using the design as a window etch for his computer case.
A remastering of the original Hokusai print with a more minimalist take. I relined over the original, negating the boats and spray. And I extended the original image to change it's ratio a bit. Then all shading elements were reworked.

All work done in Paint Shop Pro 5.

aaaahhh.. I love the japanese style waves. its stylised and simple but so effectively conveys the feeling of violent, cold choppy water.
